Brocante / Antique Market, Le Landeron

The Brocante du Landeron is the biggest open-air antiques fair in Switzerland. It is held every year on the last full weekend in September. The event brings together several hundred antique and second-hand dealers from all over Switzerland and abroad. Admission to the event is always free.

Stalls are set up in and around the old town, mainly in the open air but also in some covered areas. Unpacking takes place on Friday. The busiest days are the full days of Saturday and Sunday. Dealers offer antiques, second-hand goods, design and vintage items. Every year, there's an area in the château devoted entirely to antique toys.

If they are coming by road, visitors can count on over 1,500 low-cost parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the festival. They can also come to Le Landeron by train or boat. Along the 1,800-metre flea market route, visitors can eat at the many canteens run by local companies.

Organised by the Association de la vieille ville du Landeron (AVVL), the Landeron flea market was held for the first time in 1974. The festival's logo dates back to this first edition. From 1976, the fair was held over two days. The exhibition area was gradually extended to the outskirts of the old town, and now reaches a maximum size that the organisers do not want to exceed, in order to preserve the convivial character of the fair.
