Oberhallau hill climb
Oberhallau
At the end of August, the tranquil wine-growing village of Oberhallau in Klettgau is transformed into a paddock.
There are racing cars of all shapes and sizes on every corner. Some are barely distinguishable from road cars, while others look as if they have come straight from Formula 1. Around 250 racing drivers from Switzerland and Europe register for the Oberhallau hill climb with international participation every year. From the end of the village in the direction of Schleitheim, the hill climb leads over three kilometers and 157 meters in altitude through the vines up the Oberhallau hill.
Spectators can either admire the cars in the village from up close. No fences or partitions separate the visitors from the racing cars and the drivers, who are also happy to answer questions. Those who venture into the vineyards can experience the racing cars in action in the spectacular Tarzan curve. From there, they can not only see a large part of the track, but also have a unique view of the Klettgau region. Together with the varied supporting program and the numerous local delicacies, racing in Oberhallau becomes a family festival.
Who will break the absolute track record of 1.07.56 minutes and an average speed of 160 km/h?
