Adolf Dietrich, a naive artist?
Museum zu Allerheiligen, Schaffhausen
How a term changes the view. Lecture with Markus Landert, former director of the Kunstmuseum Thurgau.
In collaboration with the Kunstverein Schaffhausen
For a long time, Adolf Dietrich was considered a naive artist, the Swiss equivalent of the "publican Henri Rousseau". This attribution still has an impact on the way his work is discussed today. The lecture traces the birth of this myth. Markus Landert, former director of the Kunstmuseum Thurgau, is familiar with Dietrich's work from many years of exhibiting and publishing.
Following the lecture, the Kunstverein Schaffhausen will be offering an aperitif.
