Swiss Mill Day
Blatten (Lötschen)
Swiss Mill Day is an event that is traditionally celebrated at various locations in Switzerland to honor the historical importance of mills for Swiss agriculture and food production. On this day, numerous mills open their doors to the public and offer exciting insights into mill operations and the history of milling technology. The Burgergemeinde Blatten will be showing the Säge-Mühle-Walche in Blatten in operation. Rye bread is also baked in the village oven.
Program:
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Tour of the sawmill, mill and mill. Watch rye bread being made and baked. The rye bread is then sold.
11:00 a.m. Operation of the mill and sale of organic rye flour from the Blatten mill.
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Tour of the sawmill, mill and roller mill. Sale of rye bread.
14:00 Operation of the mill and sale of organic rye flour from the Blatten mill.
